| “Let no one despise your youth, but set the believers an example in speech and conduct, in love, in faith, in purity” 1 Timothy 4:12 TEEN STRENGTH TRAINING PROGRAM This is a program for 12-15 year old girls and boys who want to learn the proper techniques of exercising. Each individual will learn how to use Circuit training machines, plate loaded machines, cardio equipment and learn how to incorporate them into their workout. Components of the course will include classroom time, where muscle anatomy, basic nutrition and exercise theories will be taught. Each session lasts for four weeks. At the end of the class participants must pass a written test, with a score of 70% or better, before utilizing the fitness center. Upon completion, & passing the test, a parent must be on the premises for their children to use the fitness center. A certified personal trainer will be teaching the classes. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT CLUB The Florida Youth in Government program was formed in 1957 and helps to promote youth citizenship and civic responsibility to their local school, YMCA, community, and the State of Florida while receiving valuable lessons in life skills, leadership and democracy. It also give students the tools needed to understand the role that local, state, and national policy plays in their everyday lives, and how they can involve themselves in the process. This program is open to all high school students attending DeLand, Deltona, Pine Ridge, as well as those in Home School. Caucus meetings take place during the fall at Emmaus Lutheran Church, a pre-legislative assembly in November, and participation in the Annual YMCA Youth in Government State Assembly in Tallahassee.
