The West Volusia Family YMCA Latino Achievers Program is a leadership and career exploration program for all students in grades six through twelve in West Volusia County. LATINO ACHIEVERS meet twice each month. The program parallels the Volusia County School calendar. The “Y” Latino Achievers program promotes good academic performance and allows youth to challenge themselves, set goals and instills in them the YMCA principles of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith. Youth participants will be empowered through involvement in self-esteem workshops, career clusters, workplace tours, college tours, personal mentoring, community service and educational and cultural activities.
