Our fitness center and aerobic studio is open for our member's use daily.  The fitness center is staffed at all times for your safety

    NEW MEMBERS
    New members are welcomed to the Fitness Center with a Personal Fitness interview and two follow-ups.  These interviews are
    designed to assist in achieving your goals and provide a level of understanding of our fitness center regarding your health and
    fitness interests.  A Personal Fitness interview many be scheduled by request at the front desk.

    getting started. It will present an overview of a variety of classes, with fitness tips to increase your understanding and success!

    FRESH START TO WELLNESS
    Learn the basics of strength training and components to wellness in this three week program designed for those looking for a fresh
    start! Team up with new friends to discover the value of resistance training and the limitless choices available to achieve your goals.

    YOUTH AND FAMILY FITNESS
    Encouraging strength training helps our youth to focus on fitness at a young age. Encouraging strength training helps our youth to
    focus on fitness at a young age. Consistent strength training can improve sports performance, decrease the risk of injuries, assist
    in weight loss, improve one’s self-confidence and provide cross-training for the young athlete. Within our fitness center, we have
    designated about 400 sq. ft. of space to develop an area specifically designed for our youth. It features the Hoist Line of Fitness
    equipment. This strength training equipment is recommended for children ages 8-14 or any adult between the height of 4’1” and 5’
    6”. It has encouraged the young and the young-at-heart to combine fitness with improved muscular strength, range of motion and
    increased energy. Youth programs at the YMCA frequently include classes that utilize these machines. Orientations are provided
    and
    family time is encouraged.

    HOME SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR 2008
    Home Schooled Children: Ages 5-11 years

    We provide a program which includes sports and fitness. Indoor and outdoor activities including strength training, seasonal sports,
    fun and games to promote balance, coordination, muscular strength and cardio conditioning. Registration is currently open for the
    Spring 2008 Session.

    SELF DEFENSE
    Learn the basics of self defense and how to protect yourself with this training course.  The course is designed to teach you
    techniques that could save your life! The training is reality based to enable a quick learning curve.

    Class Schedule:  Sundays (Excludes Holidays) 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Fee:  YMCA Member - $30.00 per month
    Non-Member - $45.00 per month

    SENIOR FITNESS
    We offer a variety of affordable exercise programs for the seniors in our community. Our most popular classes are the Silver
    Sneakers I classes, currently held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11:30 am and Tuesday and Thursday at 11:45 am. The
    focus is muscle conditioning and basic fitness to improve the quality of life. Silver Sneakers II takes place Monday, Wednesday
    and Friday at 12:30 pm. This class offers a more challenging cardio workout as well as muscular strength and range of motion.
    Silver Sneakers Yoga Stretch is held on Tuesday and Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and focuses on breathing techniques, balance and
    flexible.  All are welcome. In addition, our Hoist Line of Strength Training equipment has proven to be very suitable for many of our
    seniors. We encourage you to visit our facility and be our guest for a day!

    GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
    A large variety of classes are offered Monday through Saturday including Basic and Hi intensity workouts including Hi/Lo Aerobics,
    Kickboxing, Step Aerobics, Stability Ball, Body Conditioning, Flexibility, Yoga and Pilates.
    and the very popular Latin aerobic dance, ZUMBA


    GROUP CYCLING AND SPINNING
    Classes focus on various aspects of training, including heart rate, endurance,
    recovery, strength, and interval training. Beginners may join most classes and
    are requested to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start. Monthly incentives
    encourage cross training and add an element of fun and healthy competition!

    YOUTH and TEEN

    TAE KWON DO
    The main objective of Tae Kwon Do is to develop a strong moral character. This family oriented program welcomes adults and
    children, 5 and older. The curriculum consists of basic stances, blocks, strikes, and kicks, formal exercises combining the basics,
    self-defense techniques, and non-contact sparring. All will benefit from physical fitness, improved flexibility, self-confidence,
    improved concentration and an over all feeling of well-being. Emphasis is placed on discipline, the importance of schoolwork and co-
    operation.

    Classes are held at the Deltona Family YMCA.

    TEENAGE STRENGTH TRAINING
    Improve self confidence, sports performance and cross-training, decrease risk of injuries, assist in weight loss.  Encouraging
    strength training helps our youth focus on fitness at a young age.

    Basic Strength Training is designed to introduce strength training to teens, ages 12-16 years of age, who want to begin a
    training program, using a solid base of education in nutrition and strength.  This class is a four week session, meeting twice per
    week.  Classes are available to members between the ages of 12 to 16 years.  Cost is $20.00 per four week session meeting twice
    a week.

    Group Strength for Teens  is designed to continue the experience teens have had in Basic Strength Training.  It is also for
    teens that have a basic understanding of strength training.  This class is for teens 12 to 18 years of age and is a monthly paid
    program.  Cost is $25.00 per month.

    Teen Cardio Boxing & Conditioning is designed to help teens get in shape, develop a strong mental outlook, and build
    great moral character.  This unique program focuses on specific exercises to help students increase endurance and stamina,
    become more flexible, and lose weight.  Students will learn the fundamentals boxing which include basic stance, proper footwork,
    throwing punches, breathing, and defense techniques.  Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday, 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Cost is
    $20.00 per month.  Mouth guards, hand wraps and bag gloves are required and can be purchased at the Deltona Family YMCA.

    GYMNASTICS AND TUMBLING PROGRAM
    YMCA Gymnastics Instructors will direct children with their parents to explore a variety of stations.  The emphasis of these classes
    are to introduce gymnastic skills, which are developmentally appropriate including body awareness and basic coordination.  
    Another important feature is to teach correct use of gymnastic equipment and to instill safety awareness.  

    Member fee:  $20.00
    Non-Member fee:  $30.00
    Per three week session
