SUMMER DAY CAMP What will your kids do this summer? Click the "Summer Day Camp" link in your left margin to view. The West Volusia Family YMCA Summer Day Camp programs are an experience your children will never forget! This is the summer child-care alternative which encourages spiritual, mental and physical development, group fellowship, new friends, sharing responsibilities and self-expression. We also teach the following values: Caring, Honest, Respect Responsibility & Faith. Our staff is composed of adults and college students (18 years of age and older) who truly enjoy working with children. All staff are carefully screened for their positions and attend training sessions prior to the beginning of camp. In addition, all staff have First Aid and C.P.R. Certifications. Several staff are certified lifeguards. All staff understand the Christian mission of the YMCA and realize the impact they can have on the life of your child. All our camps maintain a ratio of one counselor to fifteen children. BEFORE SCHOOL CARE Hours are 6 a.m.-8 a.m. This program is held at the YMCA. Children will be transported from the YMCA to their school, before school starts. Schools that are on the route are McInnis Elementary, DeLeon Springs, George Marks Elementary, Starke Elementary Freedom Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Blue Lake Elementary, Deland Middle School and Southwestern Middle School in DeLand. Children need to arrive by 7:10 a.m. as the vehicles leave at 7:15 a.m. AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM The West Volusia Family YMCA offers quality After-school care programs for children ages 5 through 12 from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After-School counselors are carefully screened and trained in working with your child. The YMCA After-School programs maintain a ratio one counselor to no more than fifteen children. Activities are structured and designed to promote spiritual, mental, and physical development, group friendship, new friends, sharing responsibilities, and self-expression. Games, sports, fitness, homework time, arts and crafts, songs, and playtime are some of the activities. Curriculum's are designed for the different age groups with which they deal.
Discount: $5.00 discount for each additional child in the same family. Financial assistance available for those in need. Deadlines are every two weeks throughout the school year. MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM Bus pick up from Southwestern Middle School and DeLand Middle School at dismissal time. Students have weekly trips, swimming, sports in the gym, service projects & homework time! The students help plan their weekly events! Program ends at 6:00 p.m. Call for weekly fees, Supply Fee: $40.00. Discounts for more than one child in a family. Financial assistance available. FUN DAYS After-school program counselors run one-day fun days on school holidays at the YMCA from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Special events, field trips, and swimming are some of the activities. Children should bring a packed lunch, afternoon snack, and drinks. Fees are Y Members-$17.00 Guests-$22.00. Registration deadline is the Friday, May 16.
NEW! ITTY BITTY PARENT NITE OUT Kids! have a great time on the last Friday night of each month (most of the time). Each night a has a different theme and is full of fun! Parents! Enjoy an evening out while your children are safe with us. Dinner is included! Fees: YMCA Members - $12.00; Non-Members $17. Registration deadline is always the Wednesday before the event! All children 8 weeks thru 12 years old are invited to attend. Call the YMCA 736-6000 for the next scheduled event. SATURDAY SIZZLERS (beginning this Summer) Need a Saturday just for yourself or to get a major project done. The YMCA has Saturday Sizzlers for your children once a month!
